Val Jean Medical Inc. was formed by Dr. Val Doughty.

Dr. Doughty, a respected radiologist, designed and invented the now famous Vaslbar Patient Support System.

While working at St Lukes Hospital, in Tempe Arizona, he discoved a need for some type of system that would support people when having x-rays taken. Something that they could hold onto and keep from slipping or falling while rasing their arms for chest x-rays. Something that cuts down on retakes and eliminates the need for an addtional employee in the room. He invented and designed his bar support system.

Over the next year local and out of state radiologists kept writing and calling the hospital asking where they could get something made like Val's "bar". After numerous requests from several radiologists and hospitals, he patented his system and called it the "Valsbar"
